Men and women react to things differently - it's a fact of life and you'll need to come to terms with that unless you like living your life on an emotional rollercoaster.
For instance, when you have a bad day and want to talk about it, your best bet is to call up a girlfriend. If you tell your man about it, he's going to want to solve your problem.
If you then continue to talk about it, he'll take that as a rejection of his solution and ultimately of him. He'll feel useless and think you don't believe in him or trust in his help…when all you really wanted to do, in true female fashion, was vent.
When he gets home form a bad day at work, he just wants to be left alone to think about his next course of action.
He does NOT want your help. He does not want to talk about his feelings. He does not want you to keep asking him 'what's wrong.'
If you try to help him, or get him to talk about what's bothering him, he'll take that as a slight against his manliness. He will seldom talk about that bothers him because men aren't into 'feelings' like women are.
Women find immense pleasure in the feeling of being connected with the other person, in communication and feelings.
Men get pleasure form setting goals and acquiring big boy toys.
When women get together, they talk about their feelings and romantic fantasies.
The men talk about 'things' - sports, big boy toys, politics, the economy, etc. But almost never do they talk about feelings and emotions.
So keep this in mind the next time you start to get upset with him.
Remember that when viewing the world, you two are as alike as apples and oranges - you're both fruit but don't grow on the same tree.
Try to accept this without feeling hurt and starting an argument.
