Jacob was the younger son of Issac, who was blind, and had an elder brother named Esao.
Jacob was a citizen of Israel. He was a determined person and always did whatever he wished to do either by hook or crook. He was religious and obeyed the orders of God. On the other hand Joseph was the son of Jacob who is the son of Matthan. He was very gentle and calm. He too was religious and obeyed the orders of God. Jacob and Joseph both belonged to the same parental background.
Jacob snatched away the right of being the first son of his father just by giving Esao something to eat. In order to fulfill his wish, Jacob also cheated his father. Esao was a hairy man. He had hair all over his body. Once Isaac asked Esao to provide him something to eat so that he can give Esao his blessings, Esao's mother was so clever. She loved Jacob more than Esao. So she told Jacob to dress like Esao and take the blessings of his father. In this way, he deceived his father and ran away from his house due to the fear of his elder brother. He went to his maternal uncle Loban for shelter and after sometime he married his both the daughters. One day Jacob saw God in his dreams and when God was going away from him he asked God to give him blessings but God refused. After Jacob's fight with God, God agreed to bless him. God blessed Jacob with the new name, Israel. God also told Jacob that the place where he would settle now would be called by his name, that is, Israel.
In this way, he deceived God too and fulfilled his wish.
