Detox Programs

Today there are several detox programs designed and suited for people with different lifestyles. Examples of these are herbal detoxification, detox baths in saunas, juice cleansing and more. Cases show that only some detox programs will be hard on the liver and the kidneys.

The Juice Fasting Program- A good juice fasting detox program, will consist of fruits or vegetable juices. This has been the choice for years over water fasting, because juices have alkalizing and neutralize uric acid and other important nutritional substances that the body needs. They also contain Fruit and an adequate quantity of vitamins that are easier to digest.

Herbal detoxification- This has been a big choice for many. It involves the use of several different herbs which can help with cleansing the body. Combined they have good results. Some are in the form of pills or power substances. You may also use some types of Herbal tea for a better detox program. Some studies have shown that dandelion root, red beets and cranberries work well with cleansing the kidneys.

Saunas and steam baths- This type of detox program is widely used for cleansing the skin. This type of detox program will help with getting rid of the bodies surface pollutants that settle in the skin. Most spas have this type of treatment available.

Try to keep in mind that there are many detox programs out their. You will have to decide on what one will work for you based on your health needs.

At the end of a detox program, you may have some side effect such as fatigue and lethargy. You should also go back to your normal healthy diet after completing the detox program. Finally try to keep your sugars and processed foods to a minimum. This will help you achieve overall health and wellness.
