Unlike the ultrasonic sensor which requires you to drill a hole on your bumper, the electromagnetic sensor requires no such thing. You mount it with a special adhesive that comes with the sensor.
 
Although most sensors consist only of an antenna, sensor, and a speaker, some newer models come with an LCD screen so you can literally see what you are backing into. These models might cost a lot more than your basic parking sensor, but is perfect for luxurious or high-end cars models.

This will save you money on dozens of possible trivial repairs your car will need if it is not equipped with a parking sensor.
