The "blue grass" state is one of my favorites. From any of the following Kentucky RV facilities, you can take day jaunts to incredible horse ranches, explore college towns, go hiking and fishing or just relax and take it all in.

Kentucky RV Facilities

Kentucky - the Bluegrass State - is home to many different types of amusements. Whether you come to the area to see Churchill Downs and the Kentucky Derby, or if you are planning to hike and climb in the mountains of the state, you can be sure there will be fun waiting for you and the whole family. A trip to Kentucky in your recreational vehicle means that you can explore as much of the state as you want to, without being restricted by hotel reservations and cost. So hop in your RV and find one of the many Kentucky RV facilities that are waiting for you!

There are sites for RV camping located at 31 of Kentucky's state parks (with varying amounts of amenities and capacities for size). National Park Services also run some facilities, and of course, there are smaller privately owned parks scattered throughout the state. The horse racing and breeding traditions of Kentucky are even felt in these RV parks, as some of them not only allow pets, but horses as well. Remember, even if you are planning on staying in an RV instead of a hotel, during racing season these can also be booked quickly - so making a reservation for a site can be a good idea (although not always necessary).

If you are looking to stay near the Churchill Downs area, one of the Kentucky RV facilities you will encounter here is the Rolling Hills Camping Resort, located in Taylorsville, Kentucky. This location offers amenities beyond the usual, with a beautiful landscape and activities like miniature golf. This resort offer 63 sites that include water and electric (both 30 and 50 AMP) as well as eight sites that include water, electric and sewer. A dump site is also available if you are planning a longer stay but don't wish to hook up to sewer.

There is much more to this one of the Kentucky RV facilities, however. Aside from the RV sites, Rolling Hills Camping Resort also offers cabins (if you want to stay in a different environment for a night or a longer while). There is also a pool, Jacuzzi, fishing area, miniature golf course, playground, picnic area and laundry facility for your use. A full service resort, family activities are also planned and available for campers to take part in.

The state of Kentucky may be famous for its horses, but it should also be famous for family fun. With a wide range of activities available, plus the thrill of horse racing (and even wagering) there is certain to be something for everyone in your family to enjoy.
