You can conveniently get the various health benefits of chia seeds when you grind the seeds into flour. You could grind chia seeds yourself or procure store-bought chia flour. Chia seeds health benefits mean that everything you bake delivers an instant health boost for your body!

Chia Bread.

My husband and I bake bread in the machine every couple of days. We just love the smell of baking bread that permeates our home (as well as the scrumptious taste!). We like to pile high the pizza crust with fresh tomatoes, feta cheese, onions and sliced mushrooms. More popular favorites for homemade chia pizza are pineapple, marinated pork, baby tomatoes, and multi-colored capsicums.

Chia Cookies.

No, cookies do not have to be struck from your eating plan for a healthy lifestyle! A cookie every so often isn't going to hurt you. Just use chia flour, increase the baking time by a few minutes, and scale back the volume of sugar. I like to use agave nectar, honey, or brown sugar as sweeteners because they are better for your body than refined white sugar.

Chia Scones.

Do you know the easiest scone recipe? Add 2 cups of self-raising flour to 1/2 cup each of thick cream and lemonade. Bake in a 200C oven for around ten or fifteen minutes. Scones are one of my favorite munchies, and while they are high in fat you can make this a healthier indulgence by using chia flour! Serve warm with your favorite fruit jam.

Top Five Tips for Baking With Chia Flour:

1. Baking time may vary. Prolong the baking time by about 5% of what the recipe calls for, and check the oven often the first time you try chia flour in any recipe.

2. Once you've found a baking time that works, write it down on the recipe so that you can comfortably refer to it in the future.

3. Chia flour is inexpensive and easy to buy online, so if grinding up your own flour is feeling like a chore, just buy some chia flour in bulk. It will keep for up to five years!

4. Experiment with mixing chia flour and other types of flour together to develop some variety in your recipes. Whole wheat, barley, rice flour, amaranth, buckwheat, spelt, and teff flour are some of my personal favorites.

5. If you have finicky kids, don't tell them you have used something different in the recipe - they will not be able to taste the difference anyway and they will get the chia seed health benefits.
