That Tape May Not Play Because It Has Mold On It

Are you like most people who like to watch movies? We are, and we have a pretty good size collection of movies. We have some on VHS tapes and also on DVDs.

Do you know that if you don't watch your VHS movies often enough that they can develop mold on them, thus causing them not to play anymore? If you have a lot of these kinds of movies you might want to either replace them by buying their DVD counterparts or putting them on DVD discs. If you want to just put them on DVDs, you might have to buy a certain machine that can cost you just about as much as it would cost you to replace them yourself.

You can buy these older movies for almost next to nothing. You can also go to your neighborhood pawnshop and get them even cheaper. But the problem with doing it that way is you might get one that skips really bad. Sometimes these places might not give you back your money because they don't know the condition of the disk. Even so you won't be out a lot of money, so most people will just throw way the one that is bad.

When this mold does show up on these old movies, you can try to remove it by cleaning it off with a clean rag. If this doesn't work you might be able to use a light spray of some liquid right on the tape, but sometimes this might just tear the tape. You will end up having to throw it out anyway. But no matter which way you do this, the mold will still be there and will almost certainly will have to be dealt with over time.

So if you would happen to go and find a movie that you like, and it's on tape you might want to also get a blank DVD disc and see if you can find some way to put it on this disk. If you can't find a way, you might just want to wait and see if you can find it on a disk at maybe a store that just sells movies. There are plenty of them around. You might have to travel some, or you might run across it at a yard sale. Either way this is the best or cheapest way to get the movies you want.
