Impress your friends with a cool looking MySpace layout.

Here are simple ways on how to make your layout stand out.

Paragraphs Are Your Friends

Not too many MySpace users don't know much about web design. What you'll often see on a MySpace page is an 'About Me' section filled up with a bunch of jibber jabber. Even if you're a Novel writer most people will stop reading this after just a few lines. Don't make the same mistake others do. Break your text up into simple paragraphs to make it easy to read Just Hitting the Return key twice while typing into any text box on your MySpace 'Edit Profile' screen, will not result in paragraphs created on your MySpace page.

To make your text into paragraphs on your MySpace page, you'll need to type in:

...whenever you wish to start a new paragraph. By typing in those characters, Your jibber jabber will now result into paragraphs.

Easy To Read

Many MySpace pages are styled using background images the final result of someone actually attempting to read the text displayed over certain background images. The result, most of the time is a text color that blends in with the background making it hard to read. What you'll want to do to create a readable MySpace page is to carefully select a layout in which the text is clearly visible. Be sure to use a light colored text displayed on a mostly dark colored background image or a dark text on a light background.

Pictures

Decorate your MySpace profile page by posting images directly on it instead of just using your pics page. Upload your picture to a free image host like Photobucket and get the URL and then insert the following code in any text box on your 'Edit Profile' screen:

Replace URL_TO_IMAGE_GOES_HERE with the web address of your uploaded image. Your pictures are now on your profile.

Stay Within The Page

Many MySpace users add wide images to their profile which makes visitors have to scroll across to see the whole layout. Your layout will look much nicer if you try to keep it at the default dimensions.

Keep your images to a medium size. Larger images will make you have to scroll. Try not to exceed 400 pixels in width.

Make sure you don't allow your friends to post images larger than 400 pixels wide. You will have to either delete any comments that are too wide or disable HTML in your comments section. To turn off HTML in comments, go to your account home page, click on account settings then profile settings. Click to clear 'Disable HTML Profile Comments'.

Don't Go Overboard

Many profiles are congested with too much stuff. Don't go crazy with uploading a ton of images and videos. Simple is better.
