Buying opt in leads can be a waste of time and money. Companies who deal in fresh lead generation often trick their prospective leads into signing up in order to get free promotions. So as you can imagine, the leads that they have generated aren't going to be responsive and may even report you as a spammer because they have forgotten that they have signed up as an opt-in lead. This can be devastating to your internet business and your good name. There are more reliable ways to generate interested opt-in leads for your internet business.

Lead Capture Pages

A well written lead capture page can offer an interested party the option of requesting more information on a product or opportunity. As the person has chosen to give their details, like name and e-mail address, it means that they are very interested in what you have to offer. They have not been tricked into opting into your subscriber list.

The lead capture page will usually be simple in design and give a direct message. It is important not to give too much information in this page. You want to pique their interest. Giving too much information will be counter productive. Usually the page will contain information required for you to contact the prospect, such as name, e-mail, telephone and sometimes a comments box. The lead will tell you when and how they would like to be contacted. A lead generation page can be designed by you or a company. All lead generation pages will be customized to fit your requirements, allowing you to re-direct the lead to another page of your choice.

Auto Responders

An auto responder is a software program that automatically responds to e-mails that are received in your e-mail inbox. You can customize each response to suit your requirements. Auto responders are an efficient method of letting a lead or interested party know that you have acknowledged their request and will contact them shortly.

The best thing about an auto responder is it's time saving features. It sends the same message each time an e-mail is received. You don't have to be around to answer each one personally. This leaves you more time to develop your market.

There are many uses for auto responders, some of which include:

* Answering requests for more information,
* Pass word retrieval,
* News paper or E-zine delivery,
* Customer support,
* Opt in mailing lists,
* Visitor follow ups
* Invoices, receipts and electronic product delivery.

There are many free auto responder software packages available that will allow you to personally customize your response pages with ease.

With the use of a lead page on your web site, along with an auto responder you can save a huge amount of time and resources while spending more time on what is really important - marketing your product! Never again do you need to pay hard earned money to lead generating companies for stale, uninterested leads. You can capture your own opt-in leads, who are really interested in hearing from you.
