Reverse osmosis system is a process of water purification that uses pressure techniques for the separation of contaminated elements from the water. It is used to provide the purified water for drinking, cooking and other household works. There are five main components of the reverse osmosis system .

A deposit filter that blocks the large particles including the calcium carbonate and rust
A second filter that has smaller pores
A carbonic filter to block the organic elements
A reverse osmosis filter
A second carbon filter is used to remove the chemicals that are not blocked by the RO membrane.

Benefits

The reverse osmosis system is used for water purification for different purpose. The water of storm rain is collected and purified with the reverse osmosis system to use it for irrigation and other purposes. The reverse osmosis is also effective to purify the land water.

The RO units are quite economical for the purification of the food liquids. RO system is more effective than the traditional system of heat process as it will not damage the protein, enzymes and other heat sensitive elements of the food. The RO system is widely used for the dairy industry for the production of the whey protein and the concentration of the milk.

The RO system is used by the wine industry for the condensation of wine and juice. According to the available data 60 RO units are established in France in 2002.

The lower mineral content of RO water makes it a suitable choice for car washes. It is generally used for the purpose of final coating so that the water stains can be removed.
The syrup production industry is using the reverse osmosis process for removing the water from the sap. The RO process is effective to save energy up to 75% as compared to the traditional system.

The RO system is quietly effective for the process of water purifying. It is a cost effective process so it is necessary to promote more establishment of RO units.
