Where does tanned chicas go to show off their body in Barcelona? To the local beach of course!

Barcelona is the second largest city in Spain, after the capital. One of its most famous attractions is Barceloneta, a wonderful city beach watered by the Mediterranean Sea. Locals there are friendly and they won't mind tourists going for a swim, sunbathing, relaxing and having a great time.

If you are visiting Barcelona, Barceloneta has to be seen. It proves to be a magnificent getaway from the city's noise, traffic, cram and heavy air. Although its waters are not the clearest to be found along the Costa Brava, it definitely offers an interlude that is to be remebered.

By simply taking on a street, Paseo de Joan de Borbon, you arrive at the southern-most point of the beach. The track bears you away along the beach, passing by beachfront cafes, chill-out bars where you can relax with a beer or three, local people and tourists, till the picturesque sailboats and yachts, of various sizes and forms. A somehow soothing image that makes you think that the old and the modern got together in one place. The regular activities are, of course, swimming in the sea, relaxing on the beach, maybe reading a book, walking along the shore and, why not, chatting with the tanned, carefree and stylishly clothed locals. A fun thing to do is trying to make out from the crowd the "white skins", that is the North-European tourists on the beach, who clearly get out of line.

Furthermore, Barceloneta gives you an idea of what people mean when they say that Barcelona is a city where the mountains meet the sea, as you have a great view of the city's geographical orientation. To the South there is Montjuic Park and its castle and to the North a range of majestic hills.

After this entire viewing and wandering, what does a massage sound like? Relieving, isn't it? Nothing easier. Throw yourself into the hands of one of the many asian women who are offering a relaxing massage at the price of 10 euros average for 15 minutes. All you have to do is sit back and enjoy…

Visiting Barceloneta is perfect after a full day in the city…or a busy night. Another side of Barcelona reveals itself, offering a perfect spot for complete relaxation.

How to get to Barceloneta by public transport (metro or bus)?

Everything you want to see in Barcelona, speaking of sights and attractions, is within one's reach by metro or by bus. The metro and bus system go all around the city and you can purchase a map, quite easy to read, of bus routes and metro stops. The next step would be checking the offers or options regarding public transport. Travelling on budget or no, there are offers that fit anyone, like 10 trip buss/metro pass for 7.90 euros, that can be found at every metro stop and plus it can be shared. If you're planning on heavily using the public transport, a 1, 2 or 3 day passes are the best choice. Getting stranded during the night shouldn't be a problem because, even if the bus and metro system stop at midnight, there is a night-bus system that brings home the nightly rioters. Only try to find out the closest night bus's stop, because its city coverage is somehow reduced. Knowing all this, getting to Barceloneta is piece of cake. Just hop in the yellow metro line and get off at Barceloneta metro stop. It's that easy! All you have to do next is enjoy yourself!
