A quick search of the Internet for "fine wine" will yield a million and a half results. Without the quote marks, the number jumps to over 27 million. Certainly there are fine merchants listed somewhere in there, among the wholesalers from California, France, the UK, and all the other wine clubs, opinion pieces and listings for other search engines. What if you just want a fine merchant of wine in the US of A?

It helps if you personally know a wine snob you can consult regarding the best resources for shopping the wine market. Failing that, you can buy a book on the subject with references in the back to wine shops. Don't be surprised if you find that they're in the UK.

There are also plenty of California bulk wine houses, which have grown in popularity in recent years. The Napa Valley is receiving more and more recognition for its product in the world of wine connoiseurs. Select California wines can compete with some of the finest French vintages. But what if you want to find a fine wine merchant with no regional bias?

There's plenty of local merchants of wine and liquor all over the US. Some clearly are better than others. Again, knowing a wine snob will help you navigate the oceans of possibilities. You can also consult with a genuine sommelier at a fine restaurant for his/her preferences. Again, there's no telling if he/she has an affiliation with said establishment.

What I can suggest to you is to use your noggin (not the one you drink with) and drop by my blog for my own preference in a fine merchant of wine online. You can also find out how to buy wine for the biggest wine snob you know!
