Banks are the means through which most of the people residing in different countries communicate with each other when it comes to transferring funds. The banks are considered secure and this why these banks are busy all the time in making different kinds of transactions. Different banks are interacting with each other all the time through the transactions.

When different banks have to do the bank transfer then the use of the bank clearing code is done. These codes are usually assigned by the central bank or the bankers association so that each of the banks which have been licensed by the country should be identified with the help of this code. These codes are used for the sake of security and safety. The usage of these codes makes the transactions easier and it becomes easy for identifying them. When a wire transfer between different banks has to be done then the use of the codes can really simplify the task. With the help of these codes money transfers can be easily done from one bank in one country to the other bank in some other country.

The bank code rules are different for different countries and they may vary with time too. There are no restrictions in viewing this code in many countries and these can be easily viewed with the help of the internet. Many of these codes are shown on internet but usually are shown in the local language to which the code actually belongs.

The clearing code is used for clearing one bank from the payments and transactions of the other banks. These codes are used so that there is no misunderstanding or confusion with the banks. The banks should send and receive payments easily and should be able to do it in a flawless manner. In different countries, different codes are used. The bank code is also used by the merchants in some of the countries and these are usually used for referring to the security card code which is printed on the credit cards. In some of the countries this card is also used as the prefix of the IBAN code which is used for identifying the account numbers.

The coding methods which are used in different countries or areas are different from the other ones. For example, the code used in UK is actually the sort codes and are of six digits. Routing codes of eight digits are used in Germany. In Austria5 digit code is used. In North America, routing transit numbers are used. Similarly, in Asia Pacific different codes are used. The bank code is for the unique identification of one bank from the other one and it reduces the chances of wrong or incorrect transactions, which in case of banks can be quite huge and problematic. When some transaction between different countries is required then usually these codes are considered so that there remain no chances of theft or fraud. Only the right bank, having the specific account number is contacted for the transfer of funds.
