Superbreak, a subsidiary of travel operator Holidaybreak, has just acquired London ticket agent West End Theatre Bookings for £3.2 million.

Superbreak offers specialist short breaks to a variety of locations across the UK and Europe, including an excellent selection of London theatre breaks for West End shows. The recent the acquisition of West End Theatre Bookings will complement Superbreak's existing theatre breaks service, offering customers increased and better access to premier shows in the West End.

Prior to its acquisition by Superbreak, West End Theatre Bookings earned a pre-tax profit of £400, 000 on revenue of £9.1 million in the year ending 30 September 2006. Superbreak will pay the sellers of West End Theatre Bookings an initial £2.6 million in cash, with the remainder of the amount payable over three years. Under the agreement between Superbreak and West End, Andrew Petersen will remain the managing director of West End Theatre Bookings and will retain his management team.

Commenting on the deal, Carl Michel, Chief executive of Holidaybreak, said: "The acquisition of West End Theatre Bookings strengthens our position in London theatre-inclusive breaks and builds on our product packaging strategy."

Furthermore, Superbreak offers special short break packages to a range of special events in London and beyond, including pre-registration tickets for the Tutankhamun exhibition at London's 02 Exhibition Centre, which will begin in November 2007.
