My cousin's birthday was coming up fast and I had no idea what to get her this year. I was out of gift ideas for her about 5 years ago, I couldn't possibly give her another offering of chocolates, teddy bears or any more kitchen utensils. As I like most men, really have no idea about handbags and shoes (her main interests!), I eventually opted to choose a gift from things I understand, gadgets! Integral USB Splash Drive

As a teacher, my cousin Sam always travels to and from school, carrying books, folders, floppy disks and CD's, in an effort to finish off her day's work at home. In a flash I thought of the perfect gift for her, a USB Pen Drive! I use mine all the time now.

My only concern with the suitability of a gift like this was the security of the data on it, as I knew at some point there would be confidential information stored on it. You can't afford to take the risk of your data being seen by the wrong eyes these days with all the data protection and confidentiality laws. So, my research began for a secure USB Pen Drive.

I found a number of secure USB Pen Drives on the market, but the one that won me over was the 512Mb Integral USB Splash Drive, being the most well featured all round secure USB Pen Drive and the best priced too. The Splash drive is perfect for moving data between work and home, the security software is pre-installed on the Pen Drive itself which will lock down selected files so they can only be opened or viewed once a password has been entered, meaning that only authorised persons get to see your sensitive information.

What's more, as the name suggests, the Splash Drive is water resistant, shock resistant, compact and attractive. The soft rubber covering of the Splash Drive makes the device feel robust and solid, ideal for attaching to a key ring.

As with all USB Pen Drives, the Splash Drive is incredibly easy to use. Getting a file over to it is as simple as plugging it in to your computer and "dragging and dropping" your chosen files on to it.

Best of all, I can get it in her favourite colour, green. Perfect!
