When you want something in your life, you can not snap your fingers and just make it appear. Your dreams take time, your wishes take time, and your desires take time.
But humans aren't very patient creatures, especially in this world of fast-paced, give-it-to-me-now lives. However, if you want to create the life that you were meant to live, you are going to have to learn how to be patient and how to get through difficult times.
1) Why giving up is not an option
Deep inside of you is a dream.
This might be a newer dream or something that you've been thinking about for a while now.
In any case, it's something that you long for, something that you can feel, taste, touch with your mind.
But this initial rush of emotion and desire wanes after a while. Just as a love relationship, those intense feelings that you had at the beginning begin to simmer after a while.
They're still there, but they're different than they were before. Does this mean that your dream isn't as important? Or isn't as valid?
This is where things get trickier for most people.
They aren't as committed to their dream, so they start to feel like giving up on it. And there are two ways to deal with this situation: give up or get moving. Giving up is easy. You can simply tell yourself not to think about that dream anymore and then move onto something else.
However, getting moving is a lot more difficult. You're not sure if you're going to achieve the dream that you want to achieve, and yet, you're still taking action. But here's why that's the right way to think.
2) What you believe you can do, you can do
In the laws of attraction, you are like a magnet that attracts things into your life. When you're happy and things are going well, you attract good things. When you're negative and despondent, you attract not so good things.
But being positive is only part of the equation. You also need to be focused on the dream that you want from your life.
You need to really understand what you want and why you want it. It's when we're unclear about what we want that the waiting game seems to drag on and on.
Figuring out what you want seems like an easy job, but for many of us, it's not. We get caught up in what other people want from us or what we think we should have.
Instead, take a moment to think about what would make YOU happy. Not anyone else, just you. This is the dream that you should be aiming for. This is the dream that you should not give up on.
3) Changing direction is not giving up
There may come a point at which you realize that you need to change your dream - and that's perfectly fine.
Many of us start by wanting one thing, but realize that we really wanted someone else. And it's not that we've given up on the first dream; we've just realized that we want something else. In fact, this realization can actually help to increase the likelihood of living your dream in the first place.
4) A pep talk for you
The main thing that you need to remember is that you can not give up.
Just because things do not always look like they're heading in the right direction does not mean that they actually aren't.
What you have to realize is that many dreams are deferred at times. And while it can seem depressing, they are only delays in your success.
Continue your positive thinking and actions through these darker times. In your persistence, you are continuing to create the idea that you deserve the things that you want in your life.
But if you're finding that you're still not getting anywhere, you need to sit down with yourself and really be honest - are you doing everything that you can?
Are you really taking the time to visualize what you want, believe that you can have it and truly believe in yourself?
This is where a lot of people can start to lose sight of their dreams - they forget that they still need to do the work.
If you're doing the things you need to be doing and thinking positive thoughts along the way, you're heading in the right direction - know that you are.
You can not give up or even let doubt creep into your mind - you will succeed in living your dreams and become even stronger for making it through the tougher times.
