Here is a dilemma we've all probably faced at one point or another. You have a date this weekend but we are lacking the means for it financially. In other words, you are flat broke and it doesn't look like you'll be getting paid any time soon. So, how do you plan for a date with no money?

It's a one word answer: creativity. Contrary to popular belief, however, dating doesn't have to be expensive to be fun, entertaining and memorable. You need to think outside the box and add a little bit of imagination. Dinner and a movie won't cut it so try something new for a change.

The idea I'm trying to get across to you is that you can plan a great date without breaking the bank. By creatively planning a fun date, you can impress your date without needing to take out a loan or declaring for bankruptcy. Here are some ideas:

Rent a Movie - It's much, much cheaper to watch a movie from your couch than the theater. Renting one your favorite movies, pop up some popcorn, and dim the lights. It may not be the newest blockbuster to be released but at least you'll have extra leg room. You can even lie down if you want! You'll also be able to stop the movie for a restroom break without missing an important scene.

Sip Mocha Lattes - The good folks at Starbucks can be your best friends when it comes to lounging with your date, shooting the breeze, and sipping your favorite coffee beverage. You may even get the opportunity to take your relationship to a deeper level thanks to the chance being able to talk one on one with no distractions.

Share a Sundae on Sunday - Everybody loves ice cream! Take a trip to an ice cream store. You can build and share a sundae together. You can flirt over which toppings each of you want and then get to sit close together as you spoon your way to sugar bliss.

Walk in the Park - You can take-in the beautiful scenery while holding hands. The beauty of nature is all around and it doesn't cost a dime. Whether it's a day trip to the beach, a nature walk in the forest or a relaxing day at the lake, it can be put together for practically nothing costing you only for food and gas. So do some homework and find the natural scenic spots around where you live and make use of them for your dates.

Picnic - What's better than sitting under the sun enjoying romantic snacks out in nature? Picnics are great for dates because they done wherever you are planning to go for the day. Plus, they cost a fraction of what you would normally pay for a meal in a fancy restaurant. A picnic can be either casual or romantic. Pack some cheese and wine along with a red rose and your picnic instantly takes on a romantic feel.

Historic Places and Buildings - I know it sounds touristy but visiting a historic landmark in your area can be quite fun. Many of these historic or culturally significant spots have no or small entrance fees and makes a great place to go on a date. You not only get to spend some quality time together but you'll also learn a few interesting facts about the area in which you in live in.

Go to a show - Admission normally starts around $20. That's cheap to most people. Depending on what type of show you attend, you'll find out a lot about your date's personality. By visiting a comedy show, you can see what type of sense of humor they have. By going to a ballet, you can tell if that person is interested in things like the fine arts. By using a little observation you can get all kinds of useful information about them by how they react to the different types of scenes or acts. Even if your date doesn't turn out to be the person you thought they were and the date itself goes wrong, you'll at least have a great time.
