Sexual health is synonymous with general state of health. Anything that affects you physiologically can also affect your sexual health. Decreased libido, erectile dysfunction, impotence, and painful intercourse are just some of the issues that affect sexual health. To safeguard your sexual health, I have taken the liberty of listing below what you should watch out for if you want to enjoy a full and satisfying sex life.

Know what medical conditions you have as they can directly affect your sexual health. Psychological factors like depression, anxiety and low self esteem can decrease libido. Physical factors like impotence, obesity and chronic medical condition can also have an effect on your sexual function. Once you have identified these issues, you can work on lifestyle modifications or lifestyle changes to remedy your problems.

If your problem is obesity or overweight, going on a healthy diet and staying firm on achieving your expected weight goal is the way to go. It has been proven that obesity does decrease libido. Once you stick to your planned diet and maintain it, you can immediately notice an effect on your sex drive the moment you decrease weight. The more pounds you lose, the more improvement in your libido is noted.

People who do not exercise tend to have decreased energy and stamina. Since stamina is needed in sexual marathons, this can be a problem for people who are sedentary. Start exercising to increase your stamina. Walking and cardiovascular exercises are the way to go to achieve a healthier sexual health. These exercises can also help you lose weight and increase your libido.

Choosing the right foods in addition to dieting and exercises can also help you decrease weight and encourage sexual health. To choose wisely, you can always start by listing what foods are healthy and what foods are not. Foods that are considered as unhealthy are junk foods, fatty foods, alcohol, etc. Healthy foods, on the other hand, are vegetables, fruits, fish, fresh foods, etc.

Identifying environmental factors that affect your libido and sexual health is also very important so that with lifestyle changes you can have the means to change what needs to be changed. Stress affects your libido. If you can control how you react to stress, then it will not affect your libido that much. Relaxation techniques and rest are also important not only for your body but also for the mind as an exhausted mind and body can result to decreased libido and temporary impotency.

To check if your sexual health is good, here are some questions to ask yourself:

* Is your lifestyle the way you wanted it to turn out to be?
* Do you find your sex life acceptable?
* Do you feel like you age much quicker than you ought to?

These are just some questions you need to ask yourself, but if your answers are negative, then it is high time for you to examine yourself and figure out what needs improvement in your life. Remember, a positive attitude to life reflects a positive outcome.
