How To Teach Your Baby To Swim

It is very common for parents to teach their baby to swim in order to help the baby in developing a love of water as well as strengthening muscles. Swimming is very beneficial exercise that can help your baby to keep fit well into the adult years. At this time, this article is going to give you some important tips to teach your baby to swim.

As the first step, you have to hold the baby upright and close to your shoulder while her legs are in the water. In order to give sense of motion to your baby, you can start to walk backward. Moreover, you need to take her legs and then try to stimulate the kicking movement of swimming.

The second step that you should do for teaching your baby to swim is to place your principal hand on the back of your baby, while your other hand should be placed in her chest. After that, you can blow in the face of your baby and then you need to briefly place her face in the water. Then, you need to move back your baby to your chest, and repeat this process to allow your baby getting slightly more time with her face in the water. By blowing the face of your baby, you will allow her to learn for catch her breath and holding it while under water.

The fourth step is to move the baby in front of you and place one of the hands each of her arms. Try to turn her onto her back, with the help of one arm to support her head and body. After, you can use your other arm for stroking her body in reassurance. In this step, you may find that your baby starts to cry, but you do not have to worry because it is actually the process to teach her hat she is able to float without sinking.

The fifth step is to put one of your hands underneath each of the arms of your baby. Try to lift her out of the water and after that you can smoothly move her body back into the water. Just turn your body and then repeat the process while it is staying in continuous motion. Finally, you have to be able to release the baby for a few seconds on her own.

Additionally, it is very important for you to keep the lesson for about fifteen minutes each. Do not ever teach your baby to swim any longer than fifteen minutes because it can make your baby gets cranky.
