First off, if you haven't signed up and submitted to Technorati, you should now. Here's the link: Technorati

Once you've signed up, your Blog will be visible to all the Technorati users! Now that you have that step done, you need to add your Technorati tags, for a more in depth tutorial on Technorati Tags, go here: Get More Traffic With Technorati Tags | CourtneyTuttle.com

The tag is a simple, small piece of HTML code that places a link back to Technorati with keywords relevant to your topic. For example:

That would link back to Technorati if your blog happened to deal with examples. Of course that isn't VERY likely unless you're giving examples of certain techniques or whatever, but either way, you NEED to have these tags.

Why do I need these tags you ask? Because when you place these links back to Technorati, it ties your Blog down with that keyword, so when people search for the keywords listed your Blog will be listed within the search results.

Why don't I just place a million tags? Similarly to Google, if you have a whole bunch of keywords they will consider it SPAMMING. Be sure to only choose keywords that are relative to your topic to prevent getting suspended or even banned.

How will this increase my traffic? Well, first off it looks better for search engines, you now have many more outbound links and also it opens you up for having more traffic from Technorati itself, since you are now linked to MANY different keywords. The best example of how to set them up would be to see them in action. Here they are!

Technorati Tags: technorati, blog promotion, get traffic, traffic, seo, blog

Those are many tags I have used on my Blog before, and trust me, they WORK. As long as you keep sticking to it and adding the Technorati tags, you could EASILY increase traffic by almost %50!
