Moving into your dream home is really an exciting experience but the process of move is nobody's dream. No one likes the process of home shifting because it brings lots of works to be done properly. When it comes to move your home from one place to another you have to pack things before you move. You have to do many other tasks on your move. But with proper planning you can make the process easier and simpler. So make a good checklist to make the process of your shift as easy & smooth as possible. Using a good checklist for your move you can keep you from missing or forgetting things. Here are some important suggestions which can assist you making a good checklist for your home shift.
A Month before the Move - Checklist
• Submit form for change of address to post office
• Get documents for school/college transfers
• Find a right moving company and make reservations
• Make sure you hire a local mover that is registered and experienced
• Give your new address to your friends and relatives
• Make a garage sale of those items you want to get rid of or you will not carry with you
One or Two Weeks before the Move - Checklist
• Change your address from banking accounts to the new location
• Return rented or borrowed books to library
• Return rented or borrowed CDs, DVDs, etc
• Clean the house properly
• Get your prescriptions transferred to the new location
• Call operators for utility shut off and new connections
• Gather goods that will not be moved and dispose them or donate them
• Start packing of goods using good quality packing materials
• Label packed boxes or cartons
• Prepare an "Essential Box" for just arrival at your new residence
• Make final moving plans
Moving Day Checklist
• Have your breakfast and start early
• Call your packers & movers in time
• Check each room and storage area
• Switch off all lights and lock the doors properly
• Hand over the keys to the landlord, if you were in rented house
