Did you vow to get organized this year? If you haven't started, don't let guilt and procrastination overshadow your New Year's resolution to get organized now. Instead use these 5 organization ideas below to kick off your personal organization and home organization goals and desires. You can complete one of these tasks a day (or one per weekend).

GET ORGANIZED GOAL FOR DAY 1: Evaluate your wardrobe. Rid yourself of daily wear clothing that no longer fits you or that you haven't worn in more than a year (with the exception of formal wear that you wear only for special occasions). If your daily wear doesn't fit now, it won't fit later. It's just using space in your closet. Either donate this clothing to someone else or have a "clothes party" with friends where you trade clothing items.

GET ORGANIZED GOAL FOR DAY 2: Get your finances in order. Learn where your paycheck went this year so you can make improvements toward your financial freedom next year. Calculate your income and expenses for the entire year. Make a spreadsheet with columns for income sources and expense categories such as bills you've paid. Do your best to learn where you spent your money so you can improve your financial situation in the coming year by seeing in black and white where you need to or can make changes.

GET ORGANIZED GOAL FOR DAY 3: Clean your refrigerator. Trash outdated food items and raunchy leftovers now! Pull out all the removable bins and wash them with hot, soapy water in the sink. Wipe down the remaining fixed shelves in the refrigerator with a damp cloth. Work from top to bottom.

GET ORGANIZED GOAL FOR DAY 4: Clean, update and organize your cosmetic drawer(s). If wearing cosmetics makes you look and feel good, then get ready for the new year by tossing cosmetics past their prime. Toss the "mistake" cosmetics too--those ones you bought that didn't give you the results that you expected. Then buy or improvise and create some cosmetic trays and organizers that help you to easily see and retrieve what you have daily.

GET ORGANIZED GOAL FOR DAY 5: Update your medicine cabinet. Collect all of your medicines such as prescriptions pills, laxatives, cold medicines and more from around your home and declare one spot to be their new home. A basket or tray can hold all of them and will fit in a kitchen closet. Just make sure children don't have access to them wherever you place them. Read the expiration dates on all of the medicine you have and dispose of those medicines that have long since expired. If you're out of any basics such as aspirin or tummy ache relievers, you might want to restock these. When you have a headache or stomach ache, you'll be glad to have these on hand.

Get started with those five personal and home organization ideas now. In fact, do one daily (or at least one every weekend) as suggested earlier and you will get that euphoric sense of accomplishment and a boost to your morale upon completion. You'll have kicked off your goal to get organized in high gear! It's easy to get organized when you have a specific daily or weekly personal or home organization goal in mind like those listed above. Get to it!
