When I asked the question, "Are you a Boomer?" I was ready to hear a resounding yes, from millions of us. As in my last article, about retirement and the reality of how it really felt, I was reflecting on how good it is. However, what if you are a Boomer who is not ready to retire?

What if you would like to retire and still do not have the financial means to retire? What if you still enjoy working... now I have to believe that there are a certain few that go to work and do like their JOB? I can not believe that no one likes to work. I am beginning to believe that may be the case though, when I see all the traffic during the daytime even if it is not rush hour. But, let's suppose that you do want to work and you are happy working but you now are being told that you JOB is no longer there.

What do you do? And, do you have any other skills? Did you tie up all of your energy and your skills in one area? Or, did you education only afford you one type of way to make money? And, the other scenario, that you are not ready to retire because you do not have the finances to retire. Either way, here you are. Faced with choices and what do you do?

If you are like most Boomers, you are still in the nostalgia and many still have the yearning to have the good old music and the cars that were classic and stylish. Could that be something that could turn into a hobby and or a money making opportunity? When exploring options, it seems that there are so many choices that if could be overwhelming. Particularly when you are looking at an online home business, the choices seem to be endless.

When you look at starting over or beginning something new, where do you start? How do you choose? Who do you ask? Having been online for so many years, I have found ways to keep things very simple. And, this is the best part of looking at new ways to work or not work; the Internet opens up the whole wide world. It also as I said can lend to some massive choices and decisions too.

Here are a few good tips to making things simple for you: take out a piece of paper and just brain storm ideas that you might like to do and write until you have run out of words. Then, circle the ones that give you the most joy and potential for satisfaction. Then, prioritize the ones that you have circled with a rating scale of 1-5 being what you would want to do least to most for the next five years. Being realistic at the same time, find the areas that are something the grasp of your education, finances, and resources.

Then, start with searching online and educating yourself on all aspects of the choices that you have made. You might want to decide on one of the choices at a time so that you can then decide which you would want to focus and develop for yourself.

Sounds like a project, but if you are like many people, you are in a JOB that you may have not chosen by sets of circumstances. And, now you have the opportunity to take the time and do what you want to do perhaps for the first time in your life. Why not now? Why not find something that you can do and want to enjoy?
