You articles cannot simply be the merchants sales letter rewritten. You don't want people to need to get their dictionary out in order to understand what you are saying. They will simply go on to the next article without reading yours. Make sure the product that you are promoting is also easy to understand. If people purchase something, but can't figure out how it works, they will just return it and you wont receive any commissions.
You should also write your articles in a easy to read format. People don't want to have to work too hard. If your article is written in a way that only a technical genius can understand you will turn many people off to what you are trying to sell.
Writing articles can be difficult for some people. They sit and stare at the computer hoping for inspiration. If you choose to write about something that you know something about, it will make the process much easier and it will go much more quickly. You should use language that people use everyday. If the product you are promoting is a technical product, then it is likely that a person searching for it will have the technical background to understand more technical language. A good rule is to write the article assuming the person who is reading it knows nothing about the subject you are writing about. This way you be clear. You can also do a online search for article with the same subject as yours and see how those articles are written.
