What are your Fathers Day plans? Thats a big question, and the answer really depends on what your Dad likes and what sort of activities hes into. Fathers Day presents dont necessarily have to be tangible things, although they certainly can be.

Of course, personalized gifts for dad are the best kind. For example, if your Dad is the kind who likes a good, fiery barbeque, you might present him with a bottle of a special barbeque sauce or better yet, have him over for a backyard barbeque. Another possibility is a day of his favourite sport. There arent too many Dads out there who dont enjoy a good round of golf now and again. Why not treat him to a day on the green?

Some Dads manage to stay active well into their golden years. Maybe he still runs, or (if his knees are giving out) cycles. (Its not far fetched my own Dad recently celebrated his 78th birthday by riding his bicycle over a hilly, 12-mile course.) If youre in good enough shape, consider joining him. If not, maybe its time for you to get up and get with it! In the mean time, Fathers Day gift baskets are quite versatile in this respect you can present him with any number of different kinds of items that a cyclist might appreciate, such as a reflective safety vest, a set of reflectors, or any number of small accessories that can make his cycling more pleasurable as well as safer.

Of course, riding that bike can cause one to work up quite an appetite. If youre not joining him, you could whip up a great meal for when he gets home. Or, if youre not the cooking type, gourmet Fathers Day gift baskets might be in order, as these have all kinds of tasty goodies. In fact, you can actually pick and choose the items your dad would really like.

Maybe Dads more of a spectator, and has a favourite sports team. A coffee mug with the team logo, a fan shirt and even event tickets are all items that fit into a basket very nicely. Then there are other activities like crosswords, or card games. Does you Dad enjoy a weekly poker night with the boys? A basket with poker items is something to consider, and if he likes a little nip in the course of the game, a special glass can be included.

Whatever you decide to give Dad on Fathers Day, or whatever you decide to do with him, remember that this is his day. Even if its not something you would choose for yourself, its important for him to know that youre thinking about him on his special day.
