Learn About The Do's And Don'ts Of Drinking Tea.
Drinking tea can be an art, but for those of us who don't feel the urgency to have everything precisely like it should be, there still are rules to follow. Such as what you should put in your tea, what you should not put in your tea, etc.
The don'ts of drinking tea:
• Do not add milk and lemon in your tea at the same time! The lemon will curdle the milk. (yuck!)
• After 3-4 hours, do not use your tea bag for infusing another cup of tea. Leaving the tea bag (which has already been used to make tea) in the open air causes a chemical reaction in the tea which lowers it's quality. Leaving a used tea bag to open air for several hours and using it again is harmful to your health.
• Do not let your tea bag infuse for too long. Otherwise, your cup of tea will be very strong, dark, and bitter. And you, and your guests, may not like that.
• Do not use hard water (water that often comes from your sink) to make your tea. The reason is that the hard minerals, calcium, chlorine, and other impurities, will destroy the flavor of your tea and be bad for your health too. Use bottled water unless you have a water softener system in your home.
• Never put cream in your tea. (Cream goes in coffee! Not tea!)
• Never put milk in Earl Grey tea, this will result in a bitter brew.
• For these kinds of teas: Assam, Royal Blend, Rose Pouchong, Prince of Wales, and Irish Breakfast, put a drop of milk in the tea cup first and not after. If you add the milk after you have poured the above kind of teas into the water, the brew will be bitter.
The do's of drinking tea:
• Follow the instructions on the box in regards to preparing your tea.
• Pay attention to the instructed (on the tea box) infusing time for your tea.
• Lemon can be added to Black tea and Earl Grey tea.
• Use bottled water, or soft water to make your tea.
• Rinse out the teapot with boiling water. This way, previous left over tastes will be gotten rid of, and the bacteria will be killed.
• The water for your tea has to be boiled, not warm. (Unless you're preparing the water for green tea. In that case, the water should be warm.
)Enjoy drinking tea!
