How to Motivate Your Downline and Maximize Your Profits
Retention and motivation are two of the most common problems in MLM. So how do you keep your downline motivated to work hard and stay? How do you keep them from becoming lazy and unmotivated? Success in any network marketing business is built on co-dependent relationships between your downline and you. Your downline increases your profits and you need to teach your downline how to succeed by duplicating your success.
Remember that people in your downline also want financial freedom. To keep them motivated, you need to clear their path toward success. You need to train them in order to keep them motivated. By giving them usable skills, they'll get measurable results, which will also motivate them.
The type of skills needed by your downline depends on their level of experience. Start by asking your downline what they're up against. Are they new to MLM? Do they have problems with this particular business opportunity?
Make sure that you provide them with an easily duplicable marketing system. Give them a system with step-by-step instructions about the three most important MLM marketing elements: lead generation, follow-up and conversion. You also need to demonstrate how to use that system efficiently if you want them to duplicate your success.
Once you're done training them, your downline should be more successful and motivated to be in the program. However, remember to keep pushing them to meet their potential. If they make 50 sales a month but could be making 100 sales, tell them and motivate them. Some of your downline may not be too competitive, so if this is the case, appeal to their ego instead. Everyone wants to be recognized and rewarded. Offer some public praise by sending an email to everyone in your downline or talk about a particular person's success in your monthly newsletter.
You can also offer material rewards if you want. You could give them educational gifts that will be interesting and beneficial such as a book on copywriting or internet marketing. Give your prize to the person in your downline that improved the most during a particular month. The sky's the limit!
Remember to always respect the people in your downline and keep them motivated. Tell them how much you care about them and how much you appreciate the time and effort they spend on their business. Better yet, show it to them by being the best support person you can be.
