Well a couple of examples could be that I could listen to a DJ in downtown Kingston Jamaica play the latest rapso (calypso rap) music. A school group could network geographically to listen in on a subject via private broadcast. A radio listener hears an ad for an ipod, then immediately places an order using the same medium on which he has heard the ad. This is all made possible with Internet radio, some of the latest technological innovation in radio broadcasting since the business began in the early 1920s.

Actually, Internet radio has been around for the last 15 years or so. Traditional radio broadcasters use the Internet to simulcast their programming even now in some cases. However, Internet radio is currently undergoing a huge revolution that will expand its reach. This will enable this new revolution to reach your personal computer to access broadcasts anywhere, anytime. This will in turn expand the programming from traditional broadcasters to individuals, organizations and government. So the revolution is on. Will you be a part of it?

Really until recently, the only way to get a radio broadcast over the Internet was through your personal computer. Soon, all this will change, as wireless connectivity can feed Internet broadcasts to PDA's, cellular phones and even you car radio. The next step is for a generation of wireless tools will hugely expand the convenience and in turn the reach of Internet radio.

As a comparison. Traditional radio when compared to Internet radio is not limited to just audio. The Internet radio broadcast may be accompanied by photos, graphics, text or links, and allow interactivity, such as message boards and chat rooms. This will allow the Internet radio listener to do more than listen. The example used where a listener who hears the advertisement for an ipod ordered that unit via a link on the Internet radio broadcast Web site. This allows the relationship between advertisers and consumers to become more interactive and intimate on Internet radio broadcasts. This opens up huge opportunities for marketers to promote their products. We all know that to see something is much more effective selling tool. Then to be able to give the listener the opportunity to make his or her purchase immediately is very effective.

So as you can see this new medium is going to be something that broadcasters, advertisers and listeners will all want. A very effective site that I have found for all the information you need on Internet or on-line radio is: www.radionetweb.com. This will set you up for everything you will need. Come on, get on board and join the new revolution.
