Embrace Change, And Take The Lead

Sometimes, life can throw many changes in your direction all at once. The only way to deal with change is to embrace it. That doesn't mean just go with the flow. Rather, instead of resisting change and getting swept away by the current, you should actively move within it, so you can adjust its course for the better.
The best way to live your life is to move forward. Progression is key. Many people fear going forward, because of the potential negative consequences. But like the old saying goes, if you want to make an omelet, you've got to break a few eggs.
Sometimes, a short-term bad change is ultimately necessary for a long-term good change, because it gets things going in a progressive direction. Here's a simple example. In the twentieth century, technology advanced a great deal. Home stereos became more affordable, and more powerful speakers became all the rage. We now had the capacity to listen to music whenever we wanted, as loud as we wanted. In fact, louder than was good and healthy for our eardrums. But we didn't know that at the time. We had to explore our new option, and embrace the changing technology, in order to learn that listening to music with the volume too high was damaging.
So you see, the only way to learn is to experiment, to try different things, and that is exactly what change involves. Here's a different take. When everyone is consumed by a new craze, you can simply shun it, and avoid the craze completely, cutting yourself off from the outside world. One of two things will happen. Either the rest of the world will pass you by, or you'll eventually be dragged along with everybody else, against your will.
Alternatively, right off the bat you could join in. I'm not saying jump off the bridge with the rest of them. I'm saying join their group, walk with them to the bridge, and then try to steer things along for the better. If things are going fine, then you'll see that, up close and personal. If there is a problem that nobody but you is aware of, you can make your concerns known, and help to steer the crowd (directly in the flux of change) toward a positive resolution.
In some certain situations, it really is best to avoid joining in with everyone else, because the oncoming change is extremely dangerous and inevitable. But most of the time, the best way to deal with change is not to evade it, but rather to embrace it, to learn from it, and direct it toward a constructive outcome.
