Power Talking Your Way to Power

There is power in the words you speak. Out of your mouth flow both blessings and curses. With your words you may both bless God and curse people, who are made in the image of God! (James 3: 9, 10

"Death and life are in the power of the tongue; and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof." (Prov. 18: 21) Such a simple phrase; but what profound truth! If you grasp this Promise and diligently put it to practice, it will change your life completely!

How do you talk to yourself? Have you ever stopped yourself in mid-sentence in an internal dialogue? You know what I mean, don't you? That is, if you talk to yourself like I do! Whether out loud, or muttered under your breath, your words powerfully affect you.

When people all around you are sneezing, there are two ways to react. You could mutter: "Oh boy, I'm gonna get the flu and be miserable" or: "I am covered with the Blood of Jesus, and nothing can touch me. Cold, you're under my feet. I'm not accepting you in my body, in Jesus' Name!"

Speaking the Promises of God over every situation in your life is your right; it's your inheritance! Jesus has defeated all the evil. He carried your diseases. You do not need to! The minute you acknowledge the likeliness of something bad to happen to you, it is like giving it an open invitation to you!

Whatsoever you ask in Jesus' Name, He will do it! (John 14: 13) But, the key word is Ask! You must ask Him, not merely in a "Please, Lord, may I?" kind of prayer, but right out loud in the open. Declare His Words that apply to your situation! He already said it. He wants you to repeat His Word to Him. He paid the price for it. He gave you the authority.

Moses knew the secret of turning God's heart. While Moses was on Mount Sinai in the Presence of God, receiving the Ten Commandments, the Israelites were making idols. This angered God so much that He was ready to annihilate them all. But Moses reminded God that He had sworn to Abraham, Isaac and Israel that he would multiply their seed as the stars of heaven. (Ex. 32: 12-14)

God's Word is anointed. It has more Power than you can even dream of. If you had even the faintest idea of what God's Power could possibly be compared to, you would never consider walking in defeat, sickness or fear! God is Omnipotent; all powerful. All power comes from and through Him. All power is given in the Name of Jesus, and He gives that Power to those who receive Him! (John 1: 12)

Speak good things in your life and that of your loved ones. Remind God that He says in His Word that by His stripes you were healed, (Isa. 53: 5) and that if you follow His Commandments you will be blessed in all things! (Deut. 28: 1-13) Thank Him for taking your pain, sickness, or distress on the cross two thousand years ago so you do not have to carry it now. Praise Him for the victory, and stand firm with the Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. (Eph. 6: 17)

Do not grieve the Holy Spirit, who resides in every believer's heart! He is the Comforter and Helper whom Jesus released for you thanks to His death and resurrection. (john 15: 17, 26) He knows the will of God for your life. "Greater is He that is in you, than he who is in the world." (1 John 4: 4) So, be bold in the Spirit. Take a hold of the Power of the Resurrection inside of you, and power talk your way back to power!
