Why Friends Networking Sharing Their Lives On The Internet Just Keeps Growing

Now just about everyone who uses the internet is beginning to realise just how much Web 2.0 represents a very real and fundamental change in the use of the Internet. This has been made possible by the availability and rapid uptake of fast networks by large populations, although inclusion is still an issue for some sections of society, and globally. Websites are springing up everywhere which simply allow their members to communicate and collaborate! That's it - simply friends networking sharing their experiences, time, and enthusiasms.
I'm excited about the new modes of collaborative innovation opened up by the web, and how these can be powerfully applied to solving social issues . The web is a great leveller. Just because you don't fit into the right demographic to join in with a group is no longer a hindrance. When no-one sees or hears the writer, it is no longer a factor that the person may be in a wheelchair, very old or young.
The web tools themselves can be used be anyone, but the wider social modes and processes opened up, from the creation of virtual organisations, to crowd sourcing, and from open IP to self-organizing networks are also liberating.
Now I would like to give you an example of a groups in which friends networking sharing is happening, and although it does seem quite unlikely it is just one example of the social networking phenomenon.
There is a group which is banded together around "activities within sheds". These are said to be many and various: woodwork, metal work, restoration of old cars, just to name a few. We hear that the group are talking about portable sheds taken to alzheimer facilities and mobile sheds for remote country areas. The membership is sizeable and diverse too!
There are so many Web2 web sites starting that with tongue in cheek, I wonder if God will someday start a HeavenBook - oh, sorry. It exists!? I suspect many of you have already joined!?
Of course these social networking sites, with all those hundreds of thousands of friends networking sharing are all based upon one great premise which seems to be so potent.
Add value to the network and you increase your personal value, regardless of age or experience and rise within the structure of the site. So, what are you doing here reading this article? Join in, find an opportunity and use your network to solve a problem for someone. Start to rise in your own stature amongst your friends! It is fun, and it connects with a basic human need to be part of the community and be part of things. Long may there be friends networking sharing - it IS what makes the world go round.
