Feeling scared, feeling paranoid or feeling uneasy are human emotions that come as normal as breathing. But you must remember that these emotions are only acceptable when situations call for them. The thin line that separates these conditions make people find it difficult to observe. It was only until the 19th century that society recognized panic and anxiety disorders. New studies reveal that a significant number of individuals who suffer from these disorders are not even aware of them. In the United States alone, 18% of the population has been diagnosed with such cognitive complications, and that is not the only bad news: some of them even suffer from more than one varieties of anxiety. Thanks to the modernization of psychological and psychiatric studies, the public can now be given the chance to assess themselves for further professional confirmation and diagnosis and early anxiety treatment.

The next question would be what a person should look out for in terms of anxiety cases. Being diagnosed early would definitely be better, so knowing much more about the mental condition is a must. This is because prolonging the disorder may create permanent damages, not only to the concerned individual's mental health, but also to his or her physical health, social relations, emotional quotient, and overall well being and lifestyle. Refer to this list of fear disorders and see if you may be in need of anxiety treatment:

• Generalized Anxiety Disorder - characterized by prolonged feelings of fear involving random things or everyday worries. Yes, it may be normal to worry a bit about everything, but not worrying a lot about nothing. Common among adults, this is depicted through making a big fuss out of small things.

• Panic Disorder - characterized by sudden and almost instantaneous surges of terror and fear. The abrupt heightening of panic manifests itself physically through chills, breathing difficulties, dizziness, nausea, and trembling.

• Phobias - this is a broader realm of mental/emotional disorders, for it includes various types of fears that depend on certain, specific causes. One example is agoraphobia, the fear of embarrassing or inescapable situations and conditions. This usually results in total avoidance of the phobia factor concerned, or isolation.

• Post-traumatic Stress Disorder - this condition springs from human experience that creates lasting trauma and discomfort due to a major mental impact. For example, a car accident victim who suffered from major injuries may experience depression, anger, or anxiety when recalling or witnessing similar events.

For every panic disorder, certain measures under anxiety treatment target specific roots. Aid for such conditions most commonly comes in the form of therapy or oral medication. Keep in mind that such treatment procedures must be practiced with strict accuracy, schedule, and frequency or consistency to achieve long lasting and successful results. A disruption in the cycle may lead to failed treatment attempts, cause more damage, or endanger the patient and other people around him/her. Always seek professional advice if you think you suffer from the abovementioned conditions before making your own actions, and especially before taking any medications.
