Many internet marketers are turning to article writing to promote their product or service. This is still one of the most effective ways to get the word out about your product or service. Many people familiar with online business will say that it is an old and useless method. This is wrong, plain and simple.

The quality of the articles you write will determine the success or failure or your campaign. There are many interesting subjects to choose from within your niche. I have seen writers who can find literally hundreds of things to write about about a single sub-topic. Don't believe yourself when you find yourself running out of ideas for subjects.

One useful area of interest is writing an opinion piece. This is good for beginning writers because frankly, who doesn't have opinions on the product or service they're promoting?

Believe it or not, people are very interested in the opinions of others regarding one subject or another. For evidence, just look at the end of any article online from one of the top news agencies and you'll see that people can't resist expressing their viewpoint in an open forum. Understanding this is a key element in your article campaign.

This can be a good starting point for you. Search out articles on some of the major search engines relating to the product you're promoting. Read some of the blogs and opinion pieces that follow. Take notes and be cognizant of particular points of interest that people will express themselves on. This is your head start in expanding your knowledge base on writing opinion pieces.

Take your notes and identify particular areas of contention. If you start here, people will begin to take notice quickly. Someone will always have an opinion on certain things. If you've done your homework, you've already identified these topics and are about to use them to your advantage.

Remember, it's okay to be somewhat controversial. This will spark interest in your article(s). Recognize the difference between being controversial versus being offensive. If you are offensive, you may develop an unfortunate reputation to say the least. In the extreme, you can even be banned from your host site! Don't make this mistake, but understand that people acutally enjoy a little controversy. Be smart in your approach.

If you are interesting enough, you can generate enough excitement and enthusiasm for your product or service enough to earn some important business for yourself. This method of article writing is excellent for beginners, but it can take some skill to perfect the nuances that will draw attention to yourself and your business. In all, don't be afraid to walk that tightrope when feasable!

Remember that opionion pieces will always be popular because of the deep human need for acceptance within the 'tribe'. People love to feel as though they are 'in' a social circle, it's up to you to make them feel that way. Mastering this skill will enable you to increase business and sharpen your skill as an article writer.
