We are always very busy with our life. Busy with work, busy with family and personal things. So busy that we missed out the important things in our life. It is like watching a movie in a 'forward' mode.

Have you ever watched a movie when pressing the 'forward' button? If you have watched before, you will notice that the screen changes very fast. Before you know it, the movie has ended. As a result, we may miss the important things about the movie to really make sense out of it. This is the same with our life if we are too busy.

For example, you have a very busy work life. On average, you need to work more than 12 hours a day. During weekends and public holidays, you bring work back home. Being so busy with work, you will be too tired to notice what is going on with your life. Before you know it, your health has deteriorated due to overwork. Your relationship with your loved ones has become more distant. You have lost contact with your friends.

Does that sound terrible? Will you like to avoid such a situation?

The good news is that the above situation can be avoided using a simple technique. In fact, many bad situations in life can be avoided if we invest a little time to sit back and reflect on our life experiences. Things like health and relationships do not change overnight. They take time to change. They either change for the better or worst. While they are changing, there are signs and symptoms to indicate which direction they are going.

For example, if your health is deteriorating, you will be falling sick more frequently than you should normally. If you have never bother to sit back and reflect on your life experience every now and then, you may not even notice that you are falling sick more frequently nowadays. Thus, you will fail to learn that your health is deteriorating because of overwork. If you have noticed that, you may have taken actions to rectify the situation. Maybe you will change to a job that is less demanding.

If we never invest the time to sit back and reflect on our life experiences, we will miss a lot of important things that we could have learned from our past mistakes. Thus, we are prone to repeating the same mistakes again and again. In order words, there will be little or insignificant progress towards a more successful life. A good way to do self-reflection is to keep a journal of our life experiences. When we write our life experiences into a journal, we tend to think and reflect upon our experiences. As a result, we learn from our experience by keeping a journal.

The idea that I will like to share with you:
