Value For Money Websites Made Easy

Getting a modern, effective website up and running is often an expensive business, but it needn't be. In fact I marvel at the way people are often spending up to 10's of thousands of dollars more then they need to, by missing out on the fact that what they want has often been done before, and can be picked up off the shelf for a bargain basement price.

Let's take your common or garden website for a start.

The internet is bulging with sites that offer ready made templates. The development work has been done for you by qualified professionals who know about issues like cross browser compatibility, and for less than you would pay for a haircut you can be in possession of something very quite slick.

You can find flash templates, HTML website templates, intros, css styled templates up to fully loaded ecommerce templates.

So what's the catch? Well you have to know a few web basics to get the template running. For example;

Let's say you chose a flash template.

You would have to be in possession of a copy of flash to edit the template, but this can be solved by downloading the free trial from Macromedia. Perhaps not so easy for some is grasping the skills needed to do the basic editing, but it doesn't take long to master things like adding text, and it's only if you wanted to restructure the template that you would need further help. Many template stores offer services like this for a small fee. You can also go to one of the many online forums to ask for advice with developing your new skills; be brave, there are some lovely people out there.You would need to be able to use FTP software to upload the files to the web. There are free FTP programs that integrate into web browsers, like fire FTP for firefox, that make this a straightforward process. The thing to do is to be able to tweak your template so that it looks like an original design, otherwise there could be a whole raft of people out there with the same site. To do this go to one of the many image libraries that abound now and find some great images to put in place of the ones that come with your template. This way you will be in possession of something quite unique.

For a little more money you can have a full ecommerce store that is ready to roll out of the box. For this you would need to know how to get a database connected, but the instructions are usually thorough enough to get you through processes like this.

From image galleries to custom scripts to graphics that would blow you away, it's all there if you spend a little time searching in your favourite search engine. So be brave, and expand the possibilities of your online presence today.
