How to Get Your Subscribers Building a List For You

How many of your subscribers are actively building a list of their own? Let us just assume for a moment that you have 1000 subscribers and that 20% of your subscribers each have a list of an average of 300 subscribers. So your subscribers have combined lists of 6000 subscribers, in this example. Imagine if you had the power to tap into their subscribers?

There are a few ways to do this. The easiest way is to use one of the viral list builders. Basically what they do is allow you to mail everyone that joins the viral list builder, down to perhaps 10 levels or 20 levels. So if all of the subscribers on your list and their subscribers and even their subscribers were enrolled in this viral list builder, you would have perhaps as many as 10 times as many email addresses to mail each week.

Now, I do not recommend using this as your primary means of building a list. In fact, I am very much against it. I believe wholeheartedly that you should build your own list, over which you have complete control, and then offer your subscribers the opportunity to use the list builder---note, with the same intent for them---they should also get their own subscribers, then have their own subscribers use the viral list builder. By getting control of the subscriber first, then if they don't want to get into the viral list builder, that is OK, but at least you have them on your list. And the same goes for everyone in your (I hate this word, but here it is: 'downline'). They should all focus on their personal subscribers first, and then use the viral list builder only for the purpose of adding people to their list via the list builder.

The second way to do this is to offer your subscribers an incentive to email your offer to their subscribers. Perhaps you will give them a free copy of your new product if 10 of their subscribers will opt in to your list. If 100 people sent you 10 subscribers, you have another 1000 subscribers on your list--and that is powerful. You could also even offer a cash amount (you can easily pay via paypal) to anyone who sends you subscribers. This could be a flat rate, like 50 cents per subscriber, or it could be a bonus. For example, the person that sends the most traffic or subscribers gets 50 dollars, or anyone that sends at least 20 gets 10 dollars. I know it is money, but I would much rather give my subscribers 50 cents per lead than to give that same dollar to Yahoo or Google.
